Zoo-phonics ® is the curriculum that we use for the basis of our language arts instruction. Zoo-phonics ® is a method developed to make children strong readers and spellers using a "phono" (hearing), "oral" (speaking), "visual" (seeing), "kinesthetic" (moving), and tactile (touching) whole-brain approach.
Zoo-phonics ® uses animals drawn in the shapes of letters for ease of memory. A related body movement is given for each letter. This concrete approach cements the sounds to the shapes of the letters. The program is a fun and kinesthetic approach to learning the alphabet, letter sounds, and much more!
Many public, private, and charter schools utilize the Zoo-phonics ® program. Therefore, our academy graduates are well prepared. The sequence of introduction is demonstrated below.
