![]() PreschoolPreparing for a Wonderful Future of LearningYour child will be learning every day and won't even know it. Through engaging lessons and themes created by the teachers, he or she will reach weekly academic goals while bringing a smile to their little faces. CaregiversEach full-time preschool teacher has either a two- or four-year degree in Early Childhood Development or in Elementary Education, and/or additional related experience with children. Part-time assistants have previous experience working with children. As Cozy and Warm as HomeAs your preschooler matures, the surroundings and activities become more complex. Each preschool room has different play areas, also known as "learning centers." They include drama; blocks, puzzles manipulatives, and games; quiet area or library; art and writing; and science. We use Pinnacle® and Zoo-Phonics® curricula to formulate our lesson plans. Both support national standards. Hands-On LearningEach day we provide time for the little things that matter so much to preschoolers. Mastering tasks and skills such as tying shoelaces, cutting with scissors, drawing, and painting allow your budding student to take more responsibility for their personal care and help build self-esteem. Growing Bigger and StrongerMuch to their joy, it's obvious your child can run, jump, and climb farther, faster, and better than ever before. We'll help encourage further growth by providing the opportunity to climb and jump on safe and properly sized equipment, by providing balls and other toys small enough to be easily grasped and soft enough not to be harmful. We'll also offer gentle coaching when your child seems to need help. The good habits and skills he or she develops now are the basis for sports, dancing, and other activities that begin during middle childhood and could continue for their lifetime. A Whole New WorldYour preschooler will ask questions about everything. This helps build their linguistic skills along with general knowledge. At this time, their intellect is developing so rapidly that lessons include activities to help develop language/vocabulary, math, writing, and reading skills – all of which will be needed later in kindergarten. From big books, alphabet books, and rhyming books, to word walls, labeling, and counting, all are essential to learning. |
