A Loving Start to Your Baby's Day

The Infant Room offers a stimulating introduction to home-away-from-home care. At Appletree, your baby will have a primary caregiver who will learn what makes him or her happy, excited, and comforted. With this knowledge, the caregiver develops a personalized routine for your baby because familiarity gives him or her a sense of stability and control.

Caregivers

All caregivers in the infant room will be involved with your baby but for optimum development, he or she will have one primary caregiver who will work with, comfort, feed, and teach him or her. All use gentle touches, facial expressions, verbal cues, and a variety of interactions, because even the best educational toys and activities are ineffective if baby doesn't have a loving person to play with throughout the day.

The Future is in Our Hands

The infant room offers a safe, sanitary, and stimulating space for baby to learn and grow. Each day is filled with ample opportunity to develop fine and gross motor skills through multi sensory toys like cradle gyms and rattles and multi sensory activities like crawling in, around, and over cushions. Even changing your young baby's position, holding baby to "fly", and pushing baby's feet teach creeping and other motor skills. Your baby will also enjoy peekaboo and patty cake so he or she can begin to understand language. And when baby has had adequate stimulation, we provide a calm and quiet place for rest.

The Golden Rule

Because babies learn through example, we start their socialization skills by modeling the Golden Rule of treating others how we would like to be treated.

Exploring the Senses

From painting with pudding to singing and cooing with baby, we encourage him or her to use all senses to learn. These simple yet educational activities are key to their overall well-being and development and help foster language and motor skills, as well as help them begin to identify feelings.

Talk and Play!

Interaction with others and identification is paramount to your baby's intellectual growth. So to help your baby in his or her development, we use The Baby Signs® program as well as point out objects of interest, noises, people, animals, and body parts.
