Infants & Wobblers

Plenty of Hugs, Holding, and Love

Warm & Welcoming Environment

The infant room offers a safe, sanitary, and stimulating space for baby to learn and grow.  Each day is filled with ample opportunity to develop fine and gross motor skills through multi-sensory toys like cradle gyms and rattles and multi-sensory activities like crawling in, around, and over cushions.  Even changing your young baby's position, holding baby to "fly," and pushing baby's feet teach creeping and other motor skills.  Your baby will also enjoy peekaboo and patty cake so he or she can begin to understand language.  And when baby has had adequate stimulation, we provide a calm and quiet place for rest.  Most AppleTree locations offer a private lactation room for your convenience.  We welcome you to visit anytime!

Nurturing Caregivers

The Infant and Wobbler Rooms offer a stimulating introduction to home-away-from-home care.  At AppleTree, all caregivers in the infant room will be involved with your baby, but for optimum development, your baby will have a primary caregiver who will learn what makes him or her happy, excited, and comforted.

Language Exploration

Interaction with others and identification is paramount to your baby's intellectual growth.  AppleTree caregivers use facial expressions, verbal cues, and a variety of interactions and will work with you and your baby to develop and maintain a daily schedule including nap times, feeding times, and play times.  They also begin pointing out simple objects of interest, noises, people, animals, and body parts.  We also use the Baby Signs ® program, to aid in communication with your baby.

For more information on Baby Signs ®, please visit our Curriculum page.

Sensory Exploration

From painting with pudding to singing and cooing with your baby, we encourage him or her to use all the senses to learn.  These simple, yet educational, activities are key to their overall well-being and development and help foster language and motor skills, as well as help them begin to identify feelings.

Fine and Gross Motor Exploration

Each day is filled with ample opportunity to develop fine and gross motor skills.  Toys like cradle gyms and rattles and multi-sensory activities like crawling in, around, and over cushions help in motor development.

  1. “Recently (my son) attended his Kindergarten Open House and received the list of “things your children should be able to do prior to entering kindergarten.” I was shocked at how far advanced the curriculum at AppleTree has prepared him!”
    – Emma Powell, AppleTree Parent

  2. “AppleTree has not only provided an age-appropriate education with ample opportunity for challenge, but also a safe, caring, and compassionate community for which our daughter feels strongly a part of”
